Support for the Journey Through Grief

Coping with loss means having to deal with some difficult thoughts and feelings, which is often referred to as grief. There is no right way to grieve. It can show up as sadness, anger, confusion, or numbness. You may feel isolated, misunderstood, or simply lost.

The weight of loss can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to carry it alone. The Denver Hospice offers grief and bereavement counseling to our patients and their families in the midst of life's most tender and difficult moments.

We give you space to process emotions, ask questions, and begin to rebuild life after loss.

Candlelight Remembrance

Our Candlelight Remembrance Ceremonies offer a heartfelt way to honor and remember loved ones who have passed.

These gatherings provide a space for shared reflection, including the reading of names, optional photo displays, and a candlelight ritual. They serve as an opportunity to connect with others navigating grief and to celebrate the lives of those we've lost.

Participation is free, but registration is required and closes once capacity is reached. Attendees may submit up to three photos of their loved one for inclusion in the ceremony by emailing them to GriefCenter@care4denver.org.

Children's Grief Center

Grief looks different for every child. At our Footprints Grief Center for Children, we provide a safe, supportive space where young hearts can begin to heal after the loss of a loved one.

Our counselors use creative, age-appropriate approaches to help kids explore difficult emotions including play, art, movement, music, and storytelling. These techniques offer children a natural way to express themselves, build resilience, and understand their grief.

Parents and guardians are often unsure how to help their child through grief. We offer education, tools, and support to help caregivers understand what their child may be experiencing and how to help.
